On 23^rd September 2011, the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare launched the national program 'Thokhr for young leaders as a part of the Authority's responsibility for comprehensive nurturing youth to form an integrated and qualified personality capable of leadership in the future. Article (4) of Decretal Law No. (7) of 2008 regarding the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, given that the Authority is the supreme agency in charge of taking care of youth affairs and activities in the UAE. It is also the administrative agency in charge of all youth and sports affairs and uses an international approach accredited by Cambridge University and the ILM and is supported with a practical application to instill national values and improve the mental and intellectual abilities as well as physical and psychological energies of young men.

Target Audience:30 UAE citizens

Age groups:

1. First group: 12-14 years, or equivalent to seventh to ninth class

2. Second group: 15-17 years, or equivalent to tenth to twelfth class

3. Third group: 18-23 years, or equivalent to university stage

Place of Implementation:

First phase: from 15-17 years in the Leadership Preparation Center from 10:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. on Friday, corresponding to 23^rd September to Saturday, 12^th November the current year

Objectives:

1. To enhance the sense of national affiliation.

2. To enable young people with the necessary leadership skills to face future challenges.

3. To prepare the youth leadership in a national framework in order to achieve Emirates Vision 2021.

4. To achieve correlation with the Emirates leadership examples.

Conditions of Joining:

1. They shall be citizens of the UAE.

2. They shall be within certain age group (from 15 to 17 years) for males and females.

3. They shall pass the last year of study.

4. The parent's consent shall be obtained.

5. To adhere to approved credits (23 hours).

6. The parent will bear the participant's transportation charges from/to the program place.
