The United Arab Emirates witnessed significant progress and rapid development in various sports through its organization and hosting numerous local, regional, and international championships and sporting events. The success achieved in these tournaments has propelled the UAE to become a pioneer in many of these sports in the Gulf region, including the sport of skydiving.

In 1997, the Emirates Air Sports Association was established, taking a keen interest in aviation sports within the country. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates obtained membership in the International Air Sports Federation. Since then, this sport of skydiving has taken a qualitative leap forward, as evidenced by the organization of several civilian championships, such as the Dubai International Championship and the Gulf Cup for Skydiving.

With the strong infrastructure and continuous achievements, they formed the launching pillars for the UAE's eagles to showcase their talents and skills in skydiving. Our champion, Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi, a player on the United Arab Emirates' national skydiving team, wrote one of the many tales of championship and success in the UAE, inscribed in golden letters on the medals he won. He became one of the distinguished athletes in this thrilling sport and gained wide fame thanks to his skills and accomplishments.

Skydiving requires courage and unique skills, and Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi possesses both. He performs jumps from aeroplanes or helicopters, soaring into the sky with pride under his parachute, drawing confidence from what he has learned from the leaders of the UAE. He skillfully controls his parachute, executing thrilling aerial manoeuvres before safely landing on the ground. This has made him an outstanding and renowned player in this field, admired for his exceptional skills and high confidence in his abilities. His professional and precise performance in various challenges and competitions he participates in has earned him the reputation of being a remarkable competitor in multiple categories of skydiving, including freefall, freestyle, and canopy piloting.

Our champion, Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi, has participated in numerous local, international, and world skydiving competitions throughout his successful career, shining remarkably in each. He achieved outstanding results and secured first place in many of these competitions. He also represented the UAE efficiently in the Asian Games and continental championships, winning several medals. Among them, a bronze medal in the 11th edition of the World Games held in Birmingham, USA, where he competed through 12 rounds over four days, facing challenging weather conditions and even losing his main parachute during the third day's competitions.

His determination to raise the UAE flag on the podium was stronger than any adversity he encountered, fueling his focus to achieve his goal. Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi stated that his journey in the competition was not easy, especially when he faced the emergency of losing his main parachute due to a technical malfunction. He said, "After the unexpected incident of losing my main parachute, I had no choice but to use the reserve parachute. Then I had to train with a new one, which I couldn't get used to quickly. However, with dedication and determination, I achieved this feat in the name of the UAE."

The national team, including Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi, achieved the gold medal while participating in the World Skydiving Championship in Russia. Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi individually secured three gold medals in the individual competitions, excelling in freefall, canopy piloting, and overall standings, in addition to winning the silver medal in distance and the bronze medal in speed.

Abdul Bari Al Qubaisi shone in Ukraine, where he won three medals single-handedly, including one gold and two silvers, during his participation in the International Skydiving Championship, which witnessed broad participation from over 11 countries. In the distance competition, he claimed the gold medal with a total score of 295.764 points. He secured the silver medal in the speed category, finishing second with a score of 253.898 points. Moreover, he earned a third "silver" medal in the overall standings, finishing second with 808.050 points.

He also achieved first place in the World Games - Poland in 2018 in the category of water skiing, and ranked first in the South African International Skydiving Championships in 2019 in the categories of target and speed, he also ranked first in skydiving on water skiing in Soowp Tanay 2021 – Conobay piloting open, second overall.

Al Qubaisi was also able to break a number of records during his various participations in many international and continental championships, most notably: breaking the world record in Parachuting from a balloon with the participation of 40 skydivers at the same time in Dubai in 2013, and the worlds largest indoor skydiving head down formation at the same year. The last world record he broke was in 2021 as the highest attitude skydiving firework display, after his success in skydiving from a height of 4,907 meters.

As skydiving requires extensive physical and mental preparation and training, Abdul Bari continuously develops his physical and tactical abilities, following an intensive training regimen to maintain his peak physical fitness and skydiving skills.

Al-Qubaisi is not only a professional skydiving player but also works as a coach and advisor for many talented athletes in the UAE.
