Sports Achievement Award

This appreciation ceremony is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Court. The General Authority For Sports organise the ceremony for those accomplishing athletic achievements or contributing to or leaving a mark on the sports sector who hoist the UAE flag over local, Arab, and international skies.

Objectives:

  • Honouring the creative elite of athletes who have made significant contributions to their communities and raised the flag and name of the UAE in the sports forums at various levels regionally and internationally.

  • Emphasizing the need for a generation of young people capable of shouldering its national responsibilities and translating the confidence of our leadership into federal actions and achievements.

  • Honouring each of the sons and daughters of the country who achieves a sporting achievement that contributes to the development of national sports in its various types and fields.

  • Promoting a culture of appreciation and honour, supporting and encouraging promising energies, and motivating the rest of the youth of this country.

Evaluation methodology:

This award is based on an objective approach to award selection according to a regulation that stipulates particular selection standards. However, out of the belief in contemporary advances, the standards are updated from time to time as per the development of each achievement on the GCC, Arab and international levels.
