UAE Sports in the Innovative Laboratory of the Sports Authority

In line with the strategy of the General Authority for Sport to establish a culture of governmental innovation in the work environment and to emphasize the importance of stimulating its human resources on the principle of innovation. The activities of the innovative lab were launched yesterday morning with the participation of Khalid Isa Al Midfa, the Assistant Secretary General of the Authority, directors of departments, heads of departments and all employees. The innovative lab included six suites from the achievement (Injazat) pavilion, in which the inventor, Yousif Al Borai of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), reviewed 6 inventions that had been patented, in addition to (Innovation Contest), a competition that was launched to instill a culture of innovation, introduce innovative solutions to the challenges facing any organization, and invest in existing opportunities by following the stages of innovation and using its tools. A step-by-step pavilion where participants prepared a plan of action for innovative projects presented in a scientific way. Participants also presented innovative ideas and solutions without any financial costs through a painting. And (From the point of view) of the participants, each participant voted on (6) innovative ideas presented, in addition to the interaction and enthusiasm in answering the questions posed to the participants related to innovation, concluding with the Evaluation wing where the participants were trained in problem analysis to monitor their innovative solutions through the use of Fish Bone method. Khalid Al-Midfa, Assistant Secretary-General of the Authority, praised the laboratory, its accompanying activities, the Organizing Committee for the events, the tangible interaction of the participants and the results achieved by the event, hoping that it would be implemented on the ground in a sound manner.

Al Midfa added that the strategy of the lab will contribute to translating the government's wise approach to achieving the competitive value and the UAE's leading position in happiness to lead the way that will reflect its experience on the various sport sectors in the country and define the course of sport in the fields of innovation through clarity of vision, which seeks to make the Authority one of the best Government organizations in the field of innovation by transforming innovation into a culture of institutional work by providing systems and tools in accordance with international standards and effective partnerships, thereby enabling employees to develop and apply innovative ideas. Maryam Al Hashemi, CEO of Innovation, said that Innovation Lab 2018 aims to enhance the participation of the Authority’s employees in innovation sessions and laboratories to foster innovation and make it institutional work. The Chief Executive Officer of Innovation emphasized that the Organizing Committee was keen to crystallize the messages of government orientations in innovative sessions and projects that enhance the competitive edge of the UAE and make Emirates Sport a distinctive model among the world's best sports practices. During the lab's pavilions and wings, various ideas and topics related to sports innovation were discussed. It included a number of specialists with extensive experience in the topics of innovation, in different axes and ways. The exhibition concluded by the participating teams showing before the leadership of the Authority their innovative projects and developmental solutions to the challenges facing the organization. Al Midfa honored the winners, participants and volunteers.
