The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Sports discusses various sports issues

The Board of Directors of General Authority for Sports (GAS), chaired by HE Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi and in presence of all members, held its first meeting for the year 2019 at the GAS's headquarters in Dubai on Sunday morning.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Board members congratulated the wise leadership on the organizational success of the Special Olympics hosted by the United Arab Emirates, with special thanks for the unlimited support for this event, which is in addition to the series of achievements of the UAE sports globally, praising and appreciating the efforts of the supporters and sponsors and the organizing committee that worked in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership, reflecting and confirming the status of the UAE, its sport and its lofty goals in various aspects and fields, thanking also the audience who attended, supported and elaborated the most beautiful models of tolerance, coexistence and harmony on Zayed land and all the partners and participants.

The Board approved the restructuring of the Board of Directors of the National Anti-Doping Committee headed by Dr. Rima Mohammed Al Hosani and the membership of: Mattar Ali Al Neyadi, Faisal Khalil Haji, Asmaa Ahmed Al Nuaimi and Dania Saeed Al Muhairi.

At the end of the meeting, the Council reviewed the latest developments of the initiative after holding several meetings under the guidance of the Secretariat on the development of sports work between the two fraternal countries, where it briefed on special reports in the sport of polo and women's sports and cycling sports, as well as the formation of a joint investment and marketing committee between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and has developed a development mechanism for this aspect.
