HE Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi: Publicity of Association of Professional Football Clubs meets the aspirations of football professionals and fans

The General Authority for Sports (GAS), during the meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Sports chaired by HE Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Chairman of the Board of Directors and in the presence of Said Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, Secretary General of the Board, and all members at the headquarters of GAS in Dubai, has announced the decision to public the Association of Professional Football Clubs that supports the football and reflects positively on the competitiveness of clubs and national teams.
The decision came after the association fulfilled the requirements of the publicity process set by the committee in charge of establishing, which included a team of experts from the GAS, the UAE Football Association and the UAE Professional League Committee.
HE Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi said: “The Association of Professional Football Clubs plays a major role in the development of the sports system in the country. This step comes after careful consideration of the national requirements and standards and international rules in establishing links related to football to ensure the achievement of national goals and meet the aspirations of football professionals and fans.”
Previously, the Association announced the holding of workshops and meetings in cooperation with the GAS, the UAE Football Association and the Association, to discuss all the details of the aspects related to the establishment of an association compatible with global regulations and international trends.
It is worth mentioning that the phases of the establishment of the Association took nearly seven months of discussions and mutual meetings between GAS and the Football Association and the Association and all the regulations on accreditation in accordance with the provisions of international rules and national sovereignty and the standards agreed upon by the UAE Professional League and the International Football Association , in order to Legally establishing the Association in in a way does not violate national and international rules.
