GAS launches the second round of the best initiative in the field of community sports

The General Authority for Sports launched the second round of the best initiative in the field of community sport which comes within the strategic objective of spreading community sport among all members of society and making it a lifestyle. The competition is one of the initiatives aimed at motivating all sectors of the country to participate in the implementation of creative projects, initiatives and programs And innovative contribution to motivate the society in all its classes to exercise sports to serve the public interest through the creation of a society that is active and vital and reduces the rates of obesity and diseases of lack of movement. The competition consists of three main categories (sports clubs, higher education institutions, community institutions)
The first category includes all the national sports clubs which are registered by the General Authority for Sport. The second category includes all the higher education institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education in the State, which have initiatives to promote community sports. The third category includes all institutions that are concerned with different groups of society, Social welfare as well as institutions that work to nurture youth and girls in the country.
The second round of the competition comes after the success of the first session and the great interaction between the sports clubs and the target groups in presenting a creative and innovative initiative in the field of community sports which has had a great impact on spreading the culture of sport between Members of the Society.
For his part, Khalid Abdullah Al Hussein, Director of the Department of Sports Affairs, stressed that the initiative aims to stimulate the sectors of the State to participate in the implementation of projects, initiatives and innovative programs in the field of motivating the community in all its classes on the practice of community sports to serve the public interest as it works to consolidate the concept of sport lifestyle In the community of the UAE and the promotion of the community sports culture by working on the development of innovative initiatives to spread the culture of sports and expand the basis of community participation to exercise in general in order to strengthen the status of the State in the field of community sports.
For his part, Omar Khalaf, chairman of the competition supervision committee, said that five main axes have been developed through which the participating parties will be evaluated including management and organization, programs and events, participation and information, monitoring and evaluation.
