The Ministry's efforts in sustainability:

In line with the UAE Vision 2021, the General Sports Ministry, in cooperation with the relevant federal and local authorities, is working to achieve goals 3, 4, 5, 11, 16 and 17 of the sustainable development goals and implementing Several projects and initiatives aimed at ensuring that all members of society enjoy a healthy lifestyle at all ages and its sustainability.

The SDGs require cooperation and work with all partners practically so that we can make the right choices to improve life sustainably for future generations.

Goal 3: good health and well-being

This goal is related to the following strategic objectives of the Ministry:

  • To develop the sports sector and enable athletes to achieve achievements and championships.
  • Strengthening the community sports culture.
  • Improving women's exercise in sports.

Sports play a fundamental role in many aspects of sustainable development, such as: developing sustainable tourism, promoting peace, and sustainable health development.

Sports contribute to well-being and quality of life regardless of age, gender or race and enjoy it. Everyone goes to great lengths.

Goal 4: good education

This goal is related to the following strategic objective of the Ministry:

  • To promote local sports culture (the school Olympiad project and the initiative for sports programs in schools, "the morning queue").

Besides the school curriculum, physical and sports activities are essential to inclusive education, and children and youth benefit greatly from physical activity. Furthermore, by participating in sports and physical activities along with the school curriculum, students learn about the fundamental values of sports, including teamwork, fair play, respect for rules, cooperation, discipline and tolerance.
