The Emirates Forum for Sustainability of Sports Facilities is a dialogue platform

Khalid Isa Al Midfa, Assistant Secretary General of the General Authority for Sport, has confirmed the completion of all preparations for organizing the Emirates Forum for the Sustainability of Sports Facilities tomorrow at the headquarters of the Authority in Dubai under the patronage and presence of Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development. Al Midfa pointed out the event which will be held for the first time forms a dialogue platform through its planned events which will include two important issues about sustainability for the Earth, in addition to national innovative experiences on sustainability of facilities with a national vision. He said that the UAE has been on the road to achieving sustainable development since the declaration of the first development plan of the state in the seventies of the last century and allocates a large part of the budget for the development of public utilities and caring for it which resulted in achieving great successes in the field at various levels. He added that the forum will contribute significantly through its sessions to create awareness in the concept of sustainability; its recommendations will play its role in achieving national goals and promote sustainable development. We look forward to achieving its goals in introducing the concept of sustainability for sport facilities. He added we look forward to clarify the role of the Authority in constructing, maintaining and developing the facilities at the national level. The recommendations will also benefit the adoption of the national program for the sustainability of sport facilities and the role of athletes and members of the society in general in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of facilities during use, thus ensuring their sustainability and maintaining them clean and safe serving everyone.
