A press conference was held today at the headquarters of the General Authority for Sports in Dubai to announce the details of the events of the XXII ceremony honoring the holders of sport achievements to be held next Sunday under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to be organized by the General Authority for Sport, the National Olympic Committee , And the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, in the Union Hall at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

During the press conference, Abdul Malik announced the sporting personality of the year, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance. He described his Excellency as an excellent personality who was known for his hard work and constant follow-up of sports affairs in all his fields during his tenure as Chairman of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare , he noted that the sport movement during his presidency of the Authority witnessed a significant development and progress, thanks to his guidance and initiatives in support of national sport federations and clubs, in addition to expanding the base of sport practice and construction of sports and youth facilities and achieving big sport accomplishments during that period.

He stressed that Sheikh Nahyan was a witness to every touch of achievement and a flutter of the flag in the international forums, where our sport is distinguished by more pride through the great achievements of the sincere sons of the nation, who are deriving their strength from His Excellency guidance and follow up and the blessing of our wise leadership who supports sports and athletes.

He added that choosing his Excellency this year was also an appreciation for his important roles in raising morale, sharpening motivation and drawing plans towards the world's sporting horizons, in accordance with the highest standards that place the country in the ranks of developed countries, a platform to the overall development of the individual and society, and to promote a culture of community sport in a healthy and sound environment. He pointed out that under his presidency, he achieved many successes and achievements recorded by history and he will remain long in the memory of generations, interesting stories, valuable tournaments, precious titles, and moments contributed to the promotion of the country on the world sports map, which raised the banners of pride in the fields of brilliance and creativity, drew happiness on the faces, and brought joy to the hearts.
