UAE delegation visits Saudi Arabia to strengthen bilateral sports relations

• During the visit, H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi attended the final day of the 2025 Jeddah E-Prix Formula E Racing

18 February 2025- His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met with His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Bin Faisal Al Saud, Minister of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), to explore various strategic pathways to enhance sports cooperation between the two nations during an official visit to the city of Jeddah. They also exchanged experiences, reviewed the latest developments in the regional sports sector, and discussed potential future joint initiatives to advance sports development in both countries.

H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, emphasized the UAE’s enduring efforts to strengthen sports relations with KSA, building upon the legacy of historical ties and a shared vision for advancing the regional sports sector.

His Excellency also emphasized the importance of leveraging Saudi Arabia’s expertise in hosting major world-class championships, along with the rapidly growing Saudi football sector and sports infrastructure. H.E. Al Falasi noted that such collaborations promote the advancement of competitive and community sports, strengthening the region’s presence on the global sports stage.

Accompanying H.E. Dr. Al Falasi during the visit were H.E. Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and H.E. Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi, Vice President of the UAE Football Association (UAEFA) and Chairman of the UAE Pro League. Representatives from Saudi Arabia included H.E. Bader bin Abdulrahman Alkadi, Vice Minister of Sports, and H.E. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Massad, Under-Secretary of the Saudi Ministry of Sports.

As part of the visit, H.E. Dr. Al Falasi and the accompanying delegation attended the final day of the 2025 Jeddah E-Prix Formula E racing, which was held for the first time in Jeddah. These leading global electric motorsports event, hosted by Saudi Arabia for the seventh consecutive year, was organized under the supervision of the Saudi Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), further solidifying the Kingdom’s position as a premier sports destination for electric car racing.

This visit demonstrates the ongoing cooperation between both countries in the sports field, highlighting their shared commitment to developing sports and enhancing their presence regionally and internationally. It also aligns with the future vision of both countries to support sports development, organize major sports events, and develop sports infrastructure based on global best practices and standards.
