Press conference for the Emirates Sports Exhibition in 50 years

The General Authority of Sports (GAS) has announced its sponsorship of the "Emirates Sports in 50 Years" exhibition organized by BP Sports Services at the Dubai World Trade Center from 2nd to 4th December, coinciding with the UAE Golden Jubilee celebration. The exhibition will focus on the history of the UAE sport through a photo gallery that document various stages the country has gone through since its establishment until the present time. There will also be different sections, including pavilions for various sports federations, and others for various sports clubs. This was announced by H.E. Khalid Issa Al Midfaa, GAS Assistant Secretary-General, during the press conference held at the Movenpick Hotel Al Mamzar, in the presence of Aref Al Abbar of BP Sports Services, Abdullah Murad, General Coordinator of the exhibition, and Issa Ahmed Al Falasi of BP Sports Services, and a number of official and sports figures, and representatives of the media. H.E. Khalid Al Midfaa said that GAS's sponsorship of the exhibition comes in line with the wise leadership’s directives to declare the 50-Year, and in coincidence with the UAE Golden Jubilee celebration. The initiative also comes in line with GAS's strategy to support and sponsor various UAE sporting activities and events, in addition to a set of initiatives that GAS seeks to launch on this national occasion, which will be announced successively. Al Midfaa also stressed that the initiative is supported and followed up by H.E. Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, GAS Chairman, and H.E. Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, GAS Secretary General. Al Midfaa pointed out: “Sports has become a reflection of the concept of “soft power” and its public diplomacy through the culture of soft sports. The UAE sports sector has contributed to making many achievements at the local, regional and international levels. This necessitates us to monitor and document these achievements and this great sporting legacy during the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebration through the "Emirates Sports in 50 Years" exhibition. This exhibition constitutes a motive for both present and future generations and encourages them to learn about their sports history and move towards achieving the aspirations of this sector in the 50-Year. It is worth mentioning that the exhibition will be open for everyone, whether to participate or attend, from 10 a.m. up to 10 p.m., with all precautions and preventive measures taken.
