Interim Committee for management of Leadership Development centre of General Authority For Sports

H.E. Major General Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, president of the General Authority for Sports, issued a resolution to establish an interim committee to manage the Leadership Development Center of the Authority, in response to the results of the sixth Board of Directors meeting earlier this month.
Resolution No. 34 of 2018 stipulates that the Committee shall take over the affairs of the Centre financially and administratively, and shall have the right to make such decisions as it deems appropriate in the administration of its affairs and in conformity with the laws and regulations promulgated in this regard, starting from its date and for a period of six months.
In this regard, Raed Al Zaabi, chairman of the Committee, said that this decision requires more responsibility and care, and it is a mandate and not an honor, where we will work to do more, in order to implement the policy of the general Authority for sport in the preparation, qualification and refinement of sports leadership in the state and raise their scientific and technical level in their field of competence, in order to be leaders in the various fields of sports administrative and technical, according to the highest standards and the global leadership basis, and to benefit the community and the the nation, and its children and its outputs.
Al Zaabi added that the center has a clear vision and is an academic edifice to prepare a leading generation, and lead the sports institutions at the local and international level.
He noted that the traditional role of the center in the delivery of courses and lectures, will become the work to create the leaders of mature athletes, scientifically and professionally, including the training of referees technically, and dealing with the tools and modern technical programs that enhance the strength of UAE sports governance in the arena, in addition to that the Committee will develop a clear strategy for the future fluency of the center, freeing it from typical constraints, to the modern simulation of global models in these aspects.
It’s worth mentioning that the center is one of the institutions of the General Authority for Sport and aims to carry out the necessary studies to determine the specific needs of the bodies that supervise the welfare of athletes, and to coordinate with the sports bodies to develop future plans and programmes for the preparation, qualification and refinement of the leadership, in addition to develop scientific and technical programs and supervise courses and studies for the preparation and qualification of sports leaders.
The Committee is headed by Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, member of the Board of Directors, and the deputy chairman of the committee is Saeed Mubarak el-Zahmi, with membership of Mohammed Saeed bin Darwish, Fahad Ismail Ahmed al Hosani, Abdullah Bilal Alshamsi, Abdulrahman Mohammed Ibrahim Al Yasi and Mariam Ishaq Al Hashimi
