Residents to participate in state sports competitions

The Council of Ministers approved the Federal Law to allow sons of nationals, holders of state passports, state born and residents of the state of all nationalities to participate in all official sport competitions for various games.

In a press conference held at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADU) today, His Excellency said that the law comes under the message of the UAE based on coexistence, tolerance, peace and love among the components and categories of its society.

He pointed out that the law aims at instilling values of loyalty and national belonging, expanding the base of competitive sports for all sports, and refining and launching the energies and abilities and creativity of athletes from these categories to care for and promote these promising talents that can achieve global sporting achievements.

The Council of Ministers adopted the federal law on allowing the resident groups in the state to participate in official competitions held in the state and not requiring the nationality of the state to participate in these competitions. The list includes children of citizens, holders of state passport, those born in the state, in addition to residents of different Nationalities.

In a press conference, Al-Rumaithi revealed the details of the participation of the citizens and holders of the State passport and the birth of the State and residents of the State in sports competitions.
