The General Authority for Sport launches a project to explore the future

In the presence of Ibrahim Abdul Malik Mohammed Secretary General of the General Authority for Sport and with the participation of directors of departments, offices and centers, the Department of Strategy and Future held the first meeting on the launch of the Future Forecasting project in the field of sports. Ibrahim Abdul Malik said that the future forecasting project comes in response to the aspirations of our wise government and in line with the recent changes in the General Authority for Sports after separating the youth sector and to chart a future for the UAE sport and invest all internal and external opportunities to meet all challenges and develop proactive plans to achieve the sustainability requirements of the strategic plans of the institution Long-term goals, beyond the conventional and work to unify efforts to achieve a qualitative leap in sports work. For his part, Rashid Al Mutawa, Director of Strategy and Future Management, said that the project has been prepared over the past six months, where all the necessary axes have been developed and approved for the success of the project and the project will be translated into a clear time plan. The Authority and the strategic work team will hold introductory meetings with all sport leadership and concerned parties to explain the project requirements and ways for its success. The main information and data needed, will be collected and the current situation will be evaluated. The project will also conduct a comprehensive and detailed study of the capabilities in the field of forecasting the future, opportunities for improvement and account of all existing challenges and projected ones. He explained that the outputs of the project will be positive and have a clear impact on all sport institutions in the country and will impact the rest of the society through a set of future scenarios and the mechanism to deal with them in a scientific way to be an input to the strategic planning of the General Authority to ensure the achievement of the desired results. A guide book will be issued which will contain the work mechanisms and the tools that will be used in the future; this guide will be the first of its kind in the country on the level of sport institutions. The Director of Strategy and Future emphasized that the project will include identifying the most important local, regional and international trends, preparing the motivation matrix for change and determining the degree of its impact and ambiguity on updating the current institutional performance indicators system and the development of performance indicators in line with the aspirations of the state. Al-Mutawa also praised the support of the leadership in the General Authority giving gratitude to His Excellency Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Authority, the Secretary General and all the employees for their serious efforts to translate the orientations and aspirations of the political leadership in the State, noting that the next phase requires the concerted efforts of everyone from sport councils, Olympic Committee, Federations and sport Clubs to work together towards the success of this project and to make a quantum leap in the strategic sports work in the country.
