Al Hajeri visits Sharjah Sports Council

His Excellency Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, the General Authority for Sports Director-General, paid a visit to the Sharjah Sports Council on Monday, May 6th, as part of their "Sports Inter-communication" initiative. He met with Sharjah Sports Council Chairman Issa Hilal Al Hazami during his visit.

During the visit, department directors provided a thorough presentation outlining the council's strategies and activities. This sets the stage for exploring potential areas of cooperation to meet the goals of the National Sports Strategy 2031.

Al Hajeri expressed his admiration for the Sharjah Sports Council's efforts to advance the emirate's sports sector and announced that the Authority's "Sports Inter-Communication" initiative aims to improve the country's sports database in partnership with local sports councils and other organisations. School and university athletics are the primary areas of concentration for this partnership's efforts to identify and cultivate potential.

He was very appreciative of the council's efforts to improve Sharjah's sports scene and the UAE's sports landscape as a whole by creating a conducive setting for the growth of young athletes.

Speaking during the visit, Issa Hilal Al Hazami conveyed his joy and lauded the Authority's initiative, as well as the efforts to engage and coordinate with other institutions to support sports activities and accomplish local and international ambitions. He was open to any kind of partnership between the two groups.

“Sports Inter-communication” initiative reflects the commitment of GAS to activate partnership, enhance cooperation, and promote communication on a wide scale with Sports councils, federations, clubs, and private sector institutions. The initiative confirms that the Sports development process continues according to a phased approach involving all sports entities in the UAE to achieve the targets of the National Sports Strategy 2031. It also aims to review partners' plans and explore opportunities for the authority to support their projects, in addition to reviewing GAS's transformative plans and projects and opportunities for cooperation with sports entities in the country, to support the achievement of national sports aspirations and elevate the UAE's sports to international levels.
