The Authority discusses future directions in the practice of work

In the presence of Ibrahim Abdul Malik Mohammed, Secretary General of the General Authority for Sport, and Rashid Al Mutawa, Director of Strategy and Future Management, the Department held a special meeting with all the major strategic coordinators, supporters and the strategic work team to discuss future directions in the methodology, work and follow up in the strategic work in the Authority and the major challenges facing them. The Secretary-General commended the excellent efforts made by the Strategic Planning Team and all the strategic coordinators in the implementation of the Strategic Plan of the General Authority, as reflected clearly in the results achieved in the 2017 Plan, calling on everyone to forward with the plan drawn in the past few years, which stems from the orientations of our wise government, and looks forward to excellence and creativity and spare no effort in providing support and care for the field of sports, corresponding with the state of the development and prosperity in all areas. Rashid Al Mutawa, Director of Strategy and Future, said that the meeting was part of a series of strategic team meetings with corporate leaders to review what has been achieved during the previous period and discuss all future opportunities and challenges, praising the support of the senior leadership towards overcoming all the difficulties facing the strategic work. Al-Mutawa said that the methodology used ensures the review and evaluation in order to ensure quality in all operations of the General Authority and maintain the continuity of the requirements of continuous improvement, and ensure the commitment of the High Leadership in the General Authority for Sport to implement a system to improve the quality of its services, through different means such as the support for the strategic coordinators team by giving them all powers to implement all initiatives and programs within their competencies and to ensure the provision of the necessary resources to achieve their objectives. Al-Mutawa explained that the methodology adopted by the General Authority for Sport depends on the follow-up of all the required targets periodically, through holding follow-up meetings with all departments, offices and organizational units, in addition to field visits to verify and take corrective and preventive measures if necessary. The head of the strategic team confirmed that the meeting came out with many recommendations, the most important of which is to confirm that monthly meetings are held in all organizational units to monitor performance progress and to send monthly reports on achievement rates. The strategic team in the General Authority participates in all meetings and provides the required support, especially that there will be several strategic workshops to be implemented by the Department of Strategy and Future to raise the efficiency of all employees in the preparation and implementation of the strategy of the General Authority, noting the existence of a qualitative leap in the follow-up and evaluation of the strategy of 2018, in line with the variables in the sports arena, which will reflect positively on the ambitions and aspirations of the sports sector in the country. Ibrahim Abdul Malik stressed the continuity of providing support to the application of international standards in the dissemination of strategic thinking in all the pillars of sports institutions.
