Reception of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain

H.E. Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, Secretary-General of the General Authority of Sports (GAS), received the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Mr. Jaime Iglesias and Mrs. Teresa Atiensa Fernandez - Deputy Spanish Attaché for Cultural Affairs, in the presence of H.E. Khaled Issa Al Midfaa, GAS Assistant Secretary-General, , and Dr. Rima Al Hosani - President of The National Anti-Doping Committee, to explore ways of joint cooperation and discuss signing a sports cooperation agreement. The Secretary-General welcomed the Deputy Ambassador and his accompanying delegation, stressing GAS's keenness to provide all facilities to ensure inking the agreement and cementing joint cooperation. His Excellency praised the pioneering and distinguished role of Spanish sport, pointing out that the UAE has close and growing relations with the Kingdom of Spain in various fields. He pointed out that Spain is an important strategic partner of the UAE in the continent of Europe, stressing the importance of promoting and developing these relations to serve the interests of the two countries and the sports sector in particular. This agreement, which will contribute to strengthening sports fields and partnerships between the UAE and the Kingdom of Spain, comes to achieve GAS’s strategic objectives, develop sports sector and cement collaboration based on sharing expertise.
