Received the delegation of the Arab Gymnastics Federation

Khalid Issa Al-Midfa, assistant secretary-general of the General Authority for Sport, received this morning at his office Dr. Nader Jamali, Vice-President of the Arab and Bahrain Gymnastics Federation, and Abdul Ilah Al-Reish, President of the Saudi Gymnastics Federation, in order to discuss ways of cooperation, activating the gymnastics game in the UAE, and introducing a federation of this game in the country and joining the Gulf Committee and the Arab Gymnastics Federation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Midfa welcomed the delegation and conveyed greetings from His Excellency General Mohammed Khalfan Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the General Authority for Sport, and wished them success in their mission to support the gymnastics game in the UAE and the region.

Al Midfa praised the role played by the wise leadership and its keenness to overcome all the difficulties in front of all those who contribute to the advancement of UAE sport and open new horizons for it. Al Midfa said that the Authority is keen to establish partnerships aimed at strengthening all aspects of sports of all types and categories, providing all the requirements for their success and prominence, and making the Olympic champion.

He added that the gymnastics game is one of the most important Olympic Games and is characterized by different moves, and considered to be the art of all sports. It is a game that must have many elements, such as strength of the player, his speed and skill of performance. There are some competitions that are made for men and others that are for women. It is no less important than its individual games. It is practiced in a number of centers and clubs within the country. This meeting was meant to discuss ways of organizing this game by establishing a union based on sound rules and criteria.

At the conclusion of the meeting, everyone exchanged memorial shields and commemorative photographs.
