Sports Authority Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Emirates University

The General Authority for Sports signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Arab Emirates University in order to promote joint work between the two sides and establish an effective strategic partnership that contributes to achieving sustainable development and human resources development. Representing the Authority in the signing of the memorandum was Ibrahim Abdul Malik Mohammed - Secretary General of the General Authority for Sport and for the University was Prof. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Beili - Director of the United Arab Emirates University. The agreement provides for cooperation in the field of conducting sports policies’ studies, exchange of scientific bulletins, periodicals, information, research, studies and knowledge between the two parties, in addition to providing consultations on the topics agreed between the two parties, organizing scientific conferences, workshops and specialized seminars, relevant to the latest scientific developments in areas of common concern, and provide specialized courses and workshops in areas agreed upon by both parties.
The Secretary-General of the General Authority for Sport stressed the importance of this memorandum in enhancing cooperation and coordination between scientific institutions and other institutions to keep pace with the government's orientations towards innovation, leadership and future prospects in the fields of scientific research and higher education and in line with innovation initiatives. Abdul Malik said; the signing of the memorandum of understanding came from the belief of the two parties in the importance of education in accelerating sustainable development and in implementing the directives of His Excellency General Mohammed Khalfan Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports in this regard to activate channels of coordination and cooperation with higher education institutions, with particular emphasis on sports-related technologies. HE Dr. Mohammed Al-Beili, Director of the UAE University, stressed the importance of holding a memorandum of understanding with the General Authority for Sport, which comes in line with the vision and strategy of the university and its keenness to strengthen joint efforts and activate cooperation with the UAE authorities, especially for the innovative and scientific abilities it possess in accordance with international standards.
HE said that the UAE University is a "Future University" seeking always to strengthen ties with the community institutions and the relevant governmental and national bodies through the use of scientific research in innovation, qualification of competencies and the provision of scientific consultations in line with the national agenda of the UAE according to its 2021 vision, stemmed from its commitment as a National University of the Nation, as an institution with a central and pivotal role in supporting the process of research and innovation and investment of national energies, especially the youth, highlighting their role in promoting the scientific concepts of sport and its impact on sustainable development and achieving the desired goals.
