General Authority of Sports creates awareness on first aid procedures in sports sector
United Arab Emirates, 13 September 2022 – The General Authority of Sports celebrated the World First Aid Day, in the presence of H.E. Saeed Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, Secretary-General of the General Authority of Sports, to raise awareness among the sports professionals and employees of the Authority on optimum first aid procedures. Several authority officials were also present at the event, which was held in cooperation with the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, the Emirates Red Crescent, the community police in Dubai Police and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. The event was organised to create awareness on latest health and safety protocols, in order to maintain a healthy and inspirational work environment.
During the event, sports professionals were informed about effective first aid techniques to deal with common injuries during sporting events, which would help them deal with sudden injuries. The event also organised various activities on public health awareness and encouraged routine health check-ups to ensure the health and safety of athletes and other sports professionals.
The General Authority of Sports prioritises the development of health and safety protocols within stadiums, following the directives of the government in enhancing security and safety inside sports facilities. These events are held by the Authority with an aim to educate professionals on sports medicine and promote health awareness among sports professionals. Additionally, the event also aimed at enhancing the security and safety procedures within the General Authority of Sports.
With a goal to develop various aspects of the sports sector, the General Authority of Sports constantly explores avenues to strengthen its partnerships and benefit from them. It focuses on ensuring optimum conditions for athletes and supports them by providing enhanced security and safety inside sports facilities.
The General Authority of Sports has been committed to adopting the highest standards of health and safety protocols to ensure a healthy and secure work environment, along with promoting environmentally sustainable practices. It aims at maintaining the highest quality of health and safety practices and providing the ideal training for all employees to spread awareness on occupational safety standards.
